# Transaction Lifecycle

Every transaction moves through a series of statuses from the moment it is received to final settlement. Below is the standard flow and what each stage means.

### 1. In Progress

When a transaction is received, it enters **In Progress** status. At this stage, KYC and compliance checks are performed.

### 2. Submitted

Once all checks pass, the transaction moves to **Submitted** status. This means the transaction has been sent for processing and accepted by the processor. At this point, the funds are debited from your account.

### 3. Processed By Acquirer

The processor forwards the transaction to the destination bank. When the payment is processed successfully via the MiFinity acquirer, the status updates to **Processed By Acquirer**. This is the final status for a successful transaction.

**Reversals:** In some cases, the destination bank may reject the transaction and return the funds to the acquirer. When this happens, the transaction is marked as **Reversed** and the funds are credited back to your MiFinity merchant account. This stage is outside of MiFinity's control.
